Problem

Using the solution you developed for Project No. 1, create a worksheet using Microsoft Excel.

Task

  • Create a set of equations based on your solution from Project No.1
  • Create a hand drawn version of your worksheet layout
  • Convert your equations into formulas, using your layout.
  • Enter values, formulas and labels into your worksheet and print out the final result with formulas turned on (see note below).
  • Use the following data:
    • Distance: 1200 miles (total, round-trip)
    • Gas price: $2.00/gal
    • Miles per gallon: 25 miles/gal
    • Trip length: 10 days (9 nights)
    • Motel: $75/night
    • Meals: $35/day
  • Submit:
    • your list of equations
    • a copy of your layout drawing
    • your list of formulas
    • two copies of your completed worksheet; one with formulas turned on and one with formulas turned off

Notes

  • Feel free to do more than what is asked above, but note that if you do, you will neither lose nor gain points for the extra work.
  • To "turn on formulas"
    • From the Tools menu choose Options ...
    • Click on the View tab
    • Under Window Options check Formulas
    • Click on OK
    • Adjust column widths as needed so that formulas show correctly
